Why Do We Use CEREC For Crowns?
Advanced bonding techniques and precise restoration design allow more of the healthy tooth material to be retained, creating a stronger, more natural result. Watch the video below to learn more!
What is CEREC?
How does it work?
CEREC uses CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument. Dr. Kalmanovich uses a special camera to take an accurate picture of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a computer screen, where he uses CAD technology to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while you wait. Finally, Dr. Kalmanovich bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole process takes about one hour.

What does this innovation mean for you?
A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque- resistant. Because we no longer need to create temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab, the traditional second visit has been eliminated.
CEREC has two decades of clinical research and documentation to support the technology. The restorations have been proven precise, safe and effective.

What Our Patients Say About CEREC
“Wow! This dentist has latest technology in his office! I got a crown, and all in 1 office visit. The crown was made right there in the office.”– Carla W.
“Moving to So Cal from the Midwest, I dreaded having to find a new dentist…. I went in knowing that I was going to have to have an old crown replaced. I was incredibly surprised that my old crown was removed and my new crown was put on in the same appointment! I was impressed that I could see Dr. K. virtually making my ‘new tooth’ before permanently putting it on; how progressive! Dr. K. and his staff are all extremely detailed, knowledgable, caring and good at their craft! I am extremely happy to find Dr. Alex Kalmanovich and his staff!” –Pipere S.
